Aqualia to Operate JCPDI's Desalination Plant

The Saudi subsidiary of Aqualia, HAAISCO (Haj Abdullah Alireza & Co. Integrated Services Ltd), was selected to operate and maintain the desalination plant and the drinking water distribution system in JCPDI. Aqualia is the fourth largest water management company in Europe and ninth in the world in terms of population serving nearly 30 million people in 17 countries across 3 continents.

The plant in JCPDI has a production capacity of 60,000 m3 of desalinated water per day to serve the industrial city, both for drinking and service water.

The desalination plant is one of the major infrastructure projects in JCPDI to consolidate the industrial city as a preferred destination for investments in the Kingdom and the Red Sea region. JCPDI has already commissioned the wastewater treatment plant and the integrated gasification combined cycle plant (IGCC) providing utilities to the industrial city. The industrial port is slated for operation in the third quarter of 2022, which consists of world-class, multipurpose terminals.
