It is characterized by a draft of 16.5 metres, which enables the port to receive modern “fifth generation” ships with tonnage of up to More than 21 thousand containers, and it is allowed to handle general cargo ships and bulk goods whose loads reach more than 100 thousand tons per ship.
It is noteworthy that one of the most prominent goals of the port is to develop the capabilities of the industrial sector in the Jazan region, target global markets and increase exports to them, invest in natural resources by taking advantage of the distinctive location of the region, and enhance the Kingdom’s position and role in global supply chains.
